HARMONY OF HEARTS
CHAPTER TWO.
"Calm down babe, I'm just worried about you, you don't have to yell". Oluwashindara said to her.
Tioluwanimi, realizing how her reaction was not good enough, apologized to her, "I'm sorry babe I'm just overwhelmed with the situation I'm in right now"
"Nimi, tell me what's wrong with you, what exactly is going on? " Shindara asked.
"hmmmm", Tioluwanimi sighed deeply and afterward narrated all that transpired between her and Oluwafirefunmi.
After hearing what had happened from Tioluwanimi, Shindara was so livid, she couldn't understand how Oluwafirefunmi could behave as such.
"He's a coward!" She said angrily. "How could he behave like that?
Okay, babe what do you intend to do? How will you inform the rest of your family?"
"Honestly I still do not know, but regardless I'll have to announce it to them, regardless of how difficult it will be". Tioluwanimi said.
"Okay it's well, anyhow it goes, let me know. And if you ever need my help, do not hesitate to let me know, I'll do my best to be of help" Shindara said to Tioluwanimi.
"Thank you so much Shindara, for being a dear friend, I appreciate it, thank you".
Tioluwanimi left and headed home to inform her family of her situation. Filled with apprehension, she got to the door of her house and took deep breaths to calm her nerves.
Entering inside, she saw her parents sitting and watching TV.
She took a few moments to gather her courage and then spoke up, "Mum, Dad, I have something to tell you both". She said.
"Oh really, what is it that you want to tell us?" Her mom asked in response to her statement.
Tioluwanimi sat down and then started to narrate all that had transpired and her current situation.
After listening to what she said, both her parents **** quiet, not knowing how to react to the situation.
After a few minutes, her mom spoke up, "Now that it's like this, what do you intend to do now, Tioluwanimi? "
" Mom, I want to keep this child. I know that having a child is no joke, but I'll keep this pregnancy". Nimi said.
Afterward, her dad spoke up, "Tioulwanimi, if I say we're not disappointed in you, then I'm lying. We didn't expect this from you. It shouldn't be you such incident be heard from. But as it stands, what has happened has already happened, may God see you through your pregnancy, and you'll deliver safely. As for Oluwafirefunmi, I do not want to see him, neither do I want to hear of his name at all in this house". We'll take care of you and your child to the fullest ". He said.
Kneeling on her knees, crying profusely, she thanked her parents and assured them that she'd do all in her might to make them proud, and not disappoint them ever again.
Tioluwanimi braced herself, ready for the negative talks and rejection she knew would come after news of her being pregnant out of wedlock, both in church and around her workplace. She knew it was going to be a tough phase for her, but she was going to scale through it at the end of it all.
