In a world filled with constant comparisons between the present and the past, there lies a profound truth—the root of all weakness lies in this relentless tendency to look backward rather than forward. As the wise man rightly proclaims, "Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not inquire wisely concerning this." Ecc 7:10.

In our journey of faith, this divine method unveils a great revelation: drawing strength not from the thoughts of former glories, but from the hopeful contemplation of the future. Picture a time when a restored remnant, driven by fervor, toiled tirelessly to rebuild a temple that seemed meager in comparison to the splendor of Solomon's. In their weariness, doubts and dejection crept in, but the Lord's message resounded like a clarion call, "The latter glory of this house shall be greater than of the former." Yes, dear reader, a radiant future beyond imagination awaits us all!

As we traverse the corridors of time, we find a tapestry woven with promises—promises to the overcomers in the seven churches. And lo, they are intricately connected to a destiny yet to unfold. These promises are not confined to the past, but like a beacon of hope, they guide our steps toward a future filled with divine fulfillment.

Pause for a moment, and let your heart be captivated by the grandeur of it all. For in the Book of Hebrews, the past is indeed recalled (Heb. 10:32), but its purpose is not to chain us to bygone days. Instead, it serves as a resounding call, urging the saints of old and us, their successors, to rise to the same standard—to embrace the eternal principles that have stood the test of time.

Ah, and here we find the Holy Spirit, gently guiding our thoughts, enticing us to fix our gaze on a glorious future. Imagine a day when each of us, individually, shall be conformed to Christ—reflecting His divine character, His boundless love, and His unwavering compassion. Envision a glorious church, presented to Him without blemish—a radiant bride worthy of her Bridegroom.

In this contemplation lies a wellspring of present encouragement and strength, propelling us forward through life's trials and tribulations. It beckons us to lay aside the weight of past burdens, to shed the shackles of comparison, and to press on with renewed vigor and purpose.

Dear 'Onigbagbo', let us heed the wise counsel of the ages—to fix our eyes on the horizon of hope and embrace the unparalleled journey that awaits us. For it is in looking toward the future with unwavering faith and steadfast hearts that we discover the true source of strength, courage, and joy. Embrace the blessed destiny that lies ahead, for we are destined for greatness beyond our wildest dreams, both in time and in eternity.
